      Artist Statement about The 'GIANT'

Earthship Corp to sell the ‘GIANT’.

Earthship will remain a sponsor of the art and science of Vic Cook and will continue his legacy, but will do so without his beloved home, known as the ‘GIANT’.

Vic had two other homes that he had started projects on before he passed and we will finish those projects and continue to show by example how you can live comfortably off the grid. Look for more info on those projects around Earth Day 2012.

An auction to sell the home and property will be held Dec17 @ 11am, for details, visit www.Jacksons-Auction.com.

Thank you to all the supporters and visitors over the years.

Earthship Corp would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the people over the years that have supported the ‘Giant’.

Most recent thanks for the Benefit Concert held in Oct.

Andy Kern and Rose Jacobs worked very hard to put this day together.

Andy Kern-Elvis Tribute Artist, Sam Young and Gordon Brooks provided entertainment.

Rose Jacobs and other members of the ‘Forget You Never Elvis Fan Club’ provided games and food plus held a Silent Auction.

Pendleton Times Post, Anderson Herald Bulletin and the Madison magazine helped us get the news out.

Many businesses allowed us to post flyers and volunteers collected donations for the Auction.

Thanks to the Falls Park board for allowing us to reserve the Shelter House in Falls Park.

Donations for the day’s event came from;
Coca-Cola;
Rick's ManCave;
Psychic Messengers;
Old Fashioned Candy Shop & Gifts;
Jimmy's Dairy Bar;
White River Fitness;
Madison Co. Winery;
Daddio's;
Sahm's;
Seedy Sally’s;
Gaia's;
Gathering Grounds Coffee Shop;
Tire Barn;
Italic;
Rawlins House

Thank you all for your efforts.

Sue Blakely
President, Earthship Corp

“Longer than the Sphinx and Mt. Rushmore, the ‘Giant’ is the creation of artist and designer, Vic Cook. With a name excerpted from Neil Armstrong’s famous quote “…One Giant Leap for Mankind”, this contemporary home – in the woods – is a monument to living in balance with nature. … His high tech home which cost about a dollar a day to power, includes a concert hall, recording studio, big screen TV and two computers.“                From Indy’s Child Magazine - April 2008
